Romance Concierge List
Whether you need to get back in her good graces, or you’re trying to get her into bed, below you’ll find some fool-proof ways to woo her.
- Rent some comedies (skip the kung fu flicks and tearjerkers) to make her laugh. Cuddle up together on the couch with a selection of popcorn, chocolate or candy – anything to satisfy her cravings.
- Send her homemade love coupons in the mail. For example, “This coupon entitles you to one free massage from yours truly” or “This coupon is good for a week of putting the toilet seat down–without being reminded!”
- On Sunday, get up early to make her breakfast in bed*. Put a single red rose on the tray and wake her gently with a kiss. (*This is only a treat if she doesn’t have to clean up the hazardous waste you left in the kitchen.)
- Write love messages on the bathroom mirror before she wakes up.* (*Skip the permanent marker or this will backfire.)
- Take her to a live music venue – maybe a jazz or blues club. Or, take her dancing, assuming you’re able to two-step without innocent bystanders getting hurt.
- Find a local day spa that offers aromatherapy massage. Buy her a gift certificate so she can go for a soothing, scented treat whenever she’s feeling like something the cat dragged in.
- Rent a chocolate fondue fountain from your local catering company for an evening at home. They do the setup and takedown and will supply you with all the dipping items, including cream puffs, strawberries and other fruits. This is also known as heaven during PMS.
- Send her flowers. Skip the roses and go for an exotic and aromatic bouquet.
- Schedule an evening of pampering. Draw a warm bath and sprinkle it with rose petals; light votive candles around the bathroom, put on her favorite music, and leave a note for her saying, “This night is especially for you. I’ll be back in a couple of hours.”)* (*Wherever you go while she’s soaking her troubles away, don’t come home with any of the following: beer breath, lipstick on your collar, or the expectation of sex.)
- Write her a love letter and leave it in her car or her wallet as a surprise.
- Take her on a romantic weekend getaway for two. Give careful consideration to what she likes. If she’s a nature girl, try Yellowstone, the California Redwoods, or the Berkshires. If she’s into culture, pick Chicago, Montreal, New York or Los Angeles. If she likes to bask on the beach, consider Miami, San Diego or Cape Cod.
- Take her for a picnic. Pack a basket with her favorite foods, a bottle of wine and a blanket for two.
